    “SOUTH FLORIDA’S HOTTEST INTERNATIONAL MARKETS” AT TRUMP HOLLYWOOD

    Elite Real Estate Professionals Discuss Dramatic Impact of Buyers from Brazil and Venezuela


    HOLLYWOOD, FL -- With home buyers from Brazil and Venezuela dominating South Florida real estate in 2011, the Broward Master Brokers Forum (MBF) recently assembled to learn about the unique intricacies of these markets. An organization comprised of South Florida’s top residential real estate agents, the MBF was hosted by the extraordinary Trump Hollywood, the 41-story luxury oceanfront condominium tower.

    Upon arrival, Master Brokers enjoyed a lavish reception on Trump Hollywood’s distinctive mezzanine, which features a wine cellar and tasting salon, as well as a lavish cigar lounge with private humidors. Following the reception, members were escorted to a magnificent Penthouse residence offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Master Broker Andres Asion, vice president of sales for Fortune International Realty, welcomed the guests and offered a brief presentation about Trump Hollywood.

    The discussion on “South Florida’s Hottest International Markets” was moderated by MBF founder and chair Helen Jeanne Nicastri, and featured panelists Marco Fonseca, sales director at Piquet Realty, chairman of the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s Global Real Estate Council, and National Association of Realtors President’s Liaison to Brazil; and Beatriz J. ("B.J.") Martinez-Robles, broker/managing partner of Ingenia Real Estate Group, a Venezuela native specializing in international and luxury properties. The two discussed the economic and political factors that are driving Brazilians and Venezuelans to purchase South Florida property; the neighborhoods, cities, and home styles preferred by buyers from these countries; and ways in which agents can create and build relationships with these buyers.

    Following the panel discussions, the Master Brokers were escorted to Trump Hollywood’s elegant Club Room, where they enjoyed a delicious paella supper and a sampling of desserts.

    More than 80 Master Brokers enjoyed wine and hors d'oeuvres while touring the fully-furnished model on the 12th floor, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.Interiors by Steven G. founder and president Steven Gurowitz welcomed the members and briefly discussed the process of designing the Sky Residence, followed by an introduction to Trump Hollywood from Patrick Campbell, the project's sales director.This was followed by Senator Geller's presentation, which covered the exciting renaissance of Hollywood, the possible expansion of legalized gambling in the area, beach erosion concerns, and general real estate market issues.

    Past Chair of Historical Society of Palm Beach Discusses
    “Our County’s Rich Past: A Boon For Your Real Estate Future”


    The Palm Beach Master Brokers Forum (MBF), an organization comprised of South Florida’s top residential real estate agents, recently held a special reception hosted by Frenchman’s Creek Beach and Country Club. The event, chaired by MBF board member Virginia Spencer, was held at the community’s exquisite beach club in Juno Beach, and featured cocktails, refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, and prize giveaways. More than 50 Master Brokers and guests were in attendance.

    After a brief welcome and introduction from Lynn Byrd of Illustrated Properties and Lisa Moore of Frenchman’s Creek, guests enjoyed a special presentation by Harvey Oyer; a West Palm Beach attorney, author, lecturer, and former archaeologist. Mr. Oyer is a fifth-generation native Floridian who served for eight years as the chairman of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. In 2009, the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation recognized him with their Individual Distinguished Service Award, and he has also written two children’s books about the history of South Florida.

    In his enlightening presentation, “Our County’s Rich Past: A Boon for Your Real Estate Future”, Mr. Oyer discussed the historical significance of Palm Beach County’s recent Centennial celebration. He also offered creative suggestions for Master Brokers to "sell" the county as a rich bastion of history, culture, and business development to prospective home buyers.

    “Mr. Oyer was an extraordinary speaker, and simply dazzled our members with inspiring and useful information about our home county,” said Melanie Buhrman, chair of the Palm Beach MBF. “We thank him and our friends at Frenchman’s Creek for making a truly memorable occasion for our members.”

    The Broward Master Brokers Forum (MBF), an organization comprised of South Florida’s top residential real estate agents, recently explored the hottest interior design trends at the acclaimed Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) in Dania Beach. This special event was sponsored by LUXE Interiors + Design magazine, and its publisher Sandow Media Corporation.

    Upon entering the 775,000 square-foot DCOTA campus, more than 70 Master Brokers were greeted by some of South Florida’s most talented interior designers, and taken in groups to visit several extraordinary showrooms. Members were welcomed at the Designer’s Plumbing Studio, Eggersmann Kitchens, Inside Out Outdoor Furniture, the Nessen Showroom, Perczek Furniture Design, and the PPM Collections, and enjoyed personal guided tours of these unique showrooms, as well as light refreshments.

    After reconvening in DCOTA’s “C” atrium, members enjoyed a fast-paced, cutting-edge seminar on the latest national interior design trends from Pamela Jaccarino, editor-in-chief of LUXE Interiors + Design. Ms. Jaccarino, who has been with the magazine since 2005, outlined a fascinating series of modern style and design developments, influenced by regional tastes, cultures, and the economy. Following this presentation, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

    Chaired by Carole Smith, with committee members Penni Chasens and Darlene Dale (and special assistance from Hazel Goldman), the Holiday Party began with a cocktail reception in the building’s lobby.     CORAL GABLES, FL -- September 11, 2009 – While the receipt of their 2009 property tax notices has upset and confused numerous Miami-Dade County homeowners, members of the Miami Master Brokers Forum (MBF) recently took part in a special workshop that clearly explained the reasoning and policies behind the recently-delivered statements. This workshop was hosted for the MBF (an organization comprised of South Florida’s top residential real estate agents) by Old Spanish Village, a new community located in the heart of Coral Gables and inspired by the vision of Coral Gables founder George Merrick.

    Upon arriving at the event, guests toured and enjoyed a reception in Old Spanish Village’s new Showhouse Villa, before moving to the community’s sales center for the panel discussion. The workshop featured a blue-ribbon panel headlined by Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser Pedro J. Garcia; and included Tom Dixon, president of Dixon Commercial Real Estate, a former appraiser who specializes in tax assessment appeals and brokerage; and Danielle Blake, vice president of corporate and governmental affairs for the Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches. (MBF board members Pat Klock Parker and Christopher Zoller chaired the event, with Parker also serving as the moderator.) Members received detailed information about the rationale behind the county’s assessment policies (including Mr. Garcia’s controversial decision to disregard foreclosure sales when determining a neighborhood's taxable value), how and when to formally contest assessments, and how to retain homestead and portability benefits.

    “While the steep decline of property values may not have resulted in an equitable amount of tax savings for many homeowners, we appreciate Mr. Garcia taking the time to explain and defend his policies and calculations,” said Emilio Palomo, chair of the Miami MBF. “We are also very grateful to Mr. Dixon and Ms. Blake for their invaluable contributions to the workshop, and to our friends at Old Spanish Village for their generous hospitality.”

    Top South Florida Real Estate Agents Discuss Future of Real Estate and the Economy

    PARKLAND, FL -- The Broward Master Brokers Forum (MBF), an organization comprised of South Florida’s top residential real estate agents, recently held a panel discussion entitled “The Real Estate and Financing Crystal Ball: Predictions For Tomorrow We Can Use Today”. This event was hosted and sponsored by Parkland Reserve, an extraordinary new community from Centerline Homes.

    Master Brokers were greeted at the Parkland Reserve sales center and treated to cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres. After a cocktail reception complete with music, networking, and introductions to the new community, members made their way to the tented dining area. Phil Keagy, Broward MBF vice chair, welcomed the members with a fun and interactive question-and-answer session, in an informal “game show” format. Master Brokers were asked technical and historical questions relating to the business of real estate, and awarded prizes for correct answers.

    Carolyn Block Ellert, Broward MBF chair, began the program by thanking the guests and sponsors for their participation, and turned the program over to Helen Jeanne Nicastri, founder and chair of MBF, Inc. Nicastri gave a brief history of the MBF, and introduced Deb Marton, vice president of sales for Centerline Homes, and Jeff Auchtor, the company’s vice president of marketing, for a presentation about Parkland Reserve and its unique opportunities for buyers and agents.
    Nicastri then moderated a lively and interactive panel discussion featuring Andrew Britton, senior vice president of Investments for Wachovia Securities; Rich Campanella, president of The Campanella Group/Wachovia Mortgage; and Kenneth R. Trepeta, director of Real Estate Services for the National Association of Realtors.

    “Our members were given a remarkable amount of useful information from this panel of brilliant experts in their respective fields.” said Carolyn Block Ellert, chair of the Broward MBF. “While no one can be sure what the future holds in the current economic climate, this discussion will help us make better decisions for ourselves and our clients.     Coral Gables’ First New Entrance Since the 1920s

    The Miami Master Brokers Forum (MBF), an organization comprised of South Florida’s top residential real estate agents, was recently treated to an extraordinary 2008 Holiday Party at Old Spanish Village. Located in the heart of Coral Gables and inspired by the vision of Coral Gables founder George Merrick, Old Spanish Village welcomed more than 150 of South Florida’s elite real estate agents at this remarkable event, which was chaired by Penni Chasens, Darlene Dale, and Carole Smith.

    The evening was highlighted by the formal dedication and lighting of Coral Gables’ first new bridge entrance since the 1920s, located on the perimeter of the pre-constructed community. Inspired by that unique era of Miami history, the lavish affair featured antique automobiles at the entrance to Old Spanish Village, as well as costumed valet drivers. Master Brokers and other special guests enjoyed a lively and festive cocktail hour in the sales center, and were then escorted to the viewing area for the dedication. After comments from Arva Moore Parks, celebrated Miami historian, the Honorable Don Slesnick, mayor of Coral Gables; and Ralph Sanchez, developer of Old Spanish Village; the new bridge was dedicated with fanfare and distinctive lighting. Following the dedication, guests enjoyed a delicious holiday dinner, and a special tribute to Alicia Cervera Lamadrid, who concluded her spectacular four-year tenure as chair of the Miami MBF at this event.

This event was hosted by the new Ferguson showroom, located at 2860 N. Federal Highway in Ft. Lauderdale, and chaired by board member Christine Beck.

    More than 100 Master Brokers enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and giveaways in this beautiful 18,000-square-foot facility, located just south of Oakland Park Boulevard on Federal Highway. Ferguson showrooms are designed with homeowners, plumbers, builders, remodelers, and designers in mind, and this new center features a top-of-the-line selection of plumbing fixtures, kitchen appliances, cabinets, and lighting fixtures arranged in lovely “vignettes”.     The Broward Master Brokers Forum (MBF), an organization comprised of South Florida’s top residential real estate agents, recently held a panel discussion focusing on the mortgage fraud crisis and its impact on the market.

    The Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale hosted and sponsored the event, which began with a lovely cocktail reception on the tenth floor patio area, followed by the panel discussion and dinner on the south veranda, overlooking the beach at sunset. Ken Harris, developer of the Pelican Resort and Jim Shambo, the property’s sales manager, welcomed the members and guests, and made brief presentations prior to the panel discussion.

    The panel discussion, "Mortgage Fraud – What Agents Need to Know NOW" was moderated by Howard Finkelstein, Broward County’s Chief Public Defender and star of WSVN Ch. 7's "Help Me Howard" segments. The panelists included Daniel Jacobson, attorney and owner of Lexant Title; Nancy Barreto Hogan, managing broker, Coldwell Banker Coral Gables/San Remo Office and member/past chair of the Florida Real Estate Commission; Michael Facendo, a local real estate appraiser and owner of Facendo Associates; and Special Agent Michelle Japak of the United States Secret Service Bank Squad.

    The importance of lifestyle factors in real estate will be discussed at the next meeting of the Master Brokers Forum (MBF), an organization composed of Miami-Dade County's top real estate professionals. The event, hosted by WSG Development Company, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24 in the Canyon Ranch Living Miami Beach sales pavilion, located at 6801 Collins Avenue. The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., followed by a panel discussion at 7 p.m., and will close following an 8 p.m. dinner. [NOTE: the meeting is open only to MBF members and members of the media, and is NOT open to the public.]

    The panel discussion, "Today's Lifestyle: Design and Desire",will be moderated by Christopher Zoller, a Master Broker with Esslinger Wooten Maxwell. The panelists will include:

    · Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk; founding principal of the architectural and town planning firm Duany Plater-Zyberk and Company. Ms. Plater-Zyberk is a leader in the national movement called "the New Urbanism",which seeks to end suburban sprawl and urban disinvestment. She also serves as dean of the University of Miami School of Architecture.

    · Gary S. Milner; director of New Project Development for Canyon Ranch. Mr. Milner is responsible for defining the company's new business opportunities and consulting projects, and is currently overseeing the development of Canyon Ranch Living Miami Beach. He was instrumental in the launch of Canyon Ranch SpaClubs, the company's first brand extension.

    · There will also be brief introductions by Philip Wolman and Eric Sheppard; principals of WSG Development Company and the development team behind Canyon Ranch Living Miami Beach.

    COCONUT GROVE, Fla (October 22, 2002) – The Master Brokers Forum recently held an educational seminar at The Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove, hosted by The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove.The Master Brokers Forum is a network of top real estate professionals recognized as leaders in the real estate industry.

    The Master Brokers Forum consists of 250 member; membership is by invitation only.Individuals must have five years or more of consistent full-time residential sales and over $5 million per year in residential sales volume or 50 transactions per year for at least five continuous years.Founded by Helen Jeanne Nicastri following Hurricane Andrew in 1992, the organization was formed to pool the human element in the wake of computer failure.
